Escape from Tarkov Update Checklist Before Launching Nexus

What to check after an Escape from Tarkov update before launching Nexus EFT again.

5 min read Updated July 27, 2026

A game update can change compatibility even when Windows and the Nexus launcher have not changed. Use this short checklist after a patch, wipe, or hotfix.

01

Wait for a current Nexus status notice

Check the Nexus member dashboard and Discord before launching after a major game update. Do not assume the previous product build is ready for the new game version.

02

Update the game normally

Let the official game launcher finish its update and file verification. Restart Windows if the game or a required driver installer requests it.

03

Download only the current Nexus release

Eligible member accounts download the active launcher release from the dashboard. Avoid old copies and do not accept loaders sent by other users.

04

Review the protected product guide

Open the Nexus EFT guide attached to your key. Administrators can update that guide with version-specific preparation, screenshots, and action order.

05

Stop if the status is unclear

If no current compatibility notice is available, wait or ask support. Preserving the exact error and version information is more useful than repeated launch attempts.
